Ms. Lyness and her students recently distributed Wet Ones to all of the classes at Barker. Her class was able to share Wet Ones with the entire school after winning an entire case as a raffle prize for a contest she entered on teacherlists.com.
The 60th Annual Northwestern Indiana Science and Engineering Fair was held on Saturday, February 23rd at Valparaiso University. Six Barker students competed in the all day event. All 6 participants walked away with 2 or more awards! Three Barker students are invited to advance to the Hoosier State Science Fair on April 6th at IUPUI. Sixth grade students were very successful on their Challenger Learning Center "Mission to the Moon". Students worked together as a team using Science, Technology, Engineering and Math skills to successfully land a probe on the moon!!!
Fifteen avid Barker spellers competed in the schoolwide spelling bee. Aaron Schwark won the bee and Lea Dabagia is the alternate.
